Could you tell us a bit about your career and what you are up to now with Kindred Collective?
Over the past two decades, I鈥檝e worked across the intersections of sustainability, communications, and organisational culture to help businesses define their purpose, align their strategy, and deliver meaningful change. Kindred Collective has been a platform to partner with purpose-led businesses and leadership teams across New 成人大片and Australia, working on everything from ESG strategy and stakeholder engagement to storytelling and cultural change.
You鈥檝e just launched REWA Solutions 鈥 can you tell us about this new venture and its mission?
REWA Solutions is a tech-enabled sustainability consultancy focused on empowering businesses to thrive in the future economy. Through strategic advisory, AI-powered tools, and cultural transformation, we help organisations embed sustainability not just as a report, but as a way of thinking, operating, and growing. I co-founded REWA with Tim Loftus, one of New Zealand鈥檚 leading sustainability experts and, fittingly, my MBA supervisor. What started as a series of rich conversations about strategy, culture, and sustainable business during my MBA evolved into a shared vision and ultimately a business venture.
We identified a clear gap in the market: building internal sustainability capability is often expensive, fragmented, and slow. REWA helps close that gap quickly with purpose-built tools and smart advisory support, enabling businesses to make informed and sustainable decisions faster and with greater confidence. We partner with organisations of all sizes to embed sustainability at the heart of their operations, not just as a compliance task, but as a strategic imperative.
What could a day in your work life look like?
No two days are the same, which is exactly what I love about the work! One day I might be facilitating a leadership workshop or stakeholder materiality session; the next, I鈥檓 developing sustainability roadmaps, collaborating on an AI-enabled tool, or helping a client prepare for B Corp certification. I also spend most of my afternoons as a human taxi, ferrying my girls to their various activities around town.
Tell us about what led to you study an MBA at UC
I wanted to sharpen my strategy and leadership toolkit to be a more effective advisor and changemaker. I鈥檇 reached a point in my career where I had deep experience, but I wanted to back it up with strategic thinking, global frameworks, and a stronger ability to influence at the executive and board level. The UC MBA gave me that, and more.
What memory or experience stands out when looking back at your MBA experience?
The people. I was surrounded by brilliant, diverse, values-driven classmates who challenged me, supported me, and inspired me every step of the way. The connections I built through the programme, with peers, lecturers, and industry leaders, have shaped not only my learning but also my future direction.
Is there any advice you would offer to someone looking to return to study?
Back yourself. You don鈥檛 need to have it all figured out or to wait for the perfect time. You just need to be curious, open, and willing to do the work. The learning curve will stretch you, but it鈥檚 so worth it. And remember, the connections and confidence you gain will extend far beyond the classroom.
