The Outstanding Impact Programme supports up to 70 new scholars each year. Every student in the programme will have access to tailored development opportunities, including exclusive events, workshops, and networking experiences designed to help them grow both academically and professionally.

The Outstanding Impact Programme is guided by UC鈥檚 commitment to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and leadership. It builds scholars鈥� capability by providing exclusive networking opportunities and tailored development experiences, empowering them to thrive in their studies and future careers while making a positive impact in their chosen fields.

Delivered by UC鈥檚 Kia Angitu Student Success Team, the Outstanding Impact Programme is grounded in the value of聽Whanaungatanga聽鈥� fostering connection, belonging, and success. It offers a rich blend of coaching, mentoring, and engagement opportunities designed to empower scholars to thrive at UC and beyond.

Core Components:

• Whanaungatanga聽鈥� Fortnightly Leadership Nights and regular cohort events foster connection, community, and a sense of belonging. These gatherings also include skill-building workshops and mentoring from upper-year students to support both personal and professional development.

• Success Coaching聽鈥� Group and one-on-one sessions led by dedicated Success Coaches, focused on developing academic confidence, a growth mindset, and personal resilience.

• Careers Coaching聽鈥� Specialist sessions delivered by a dedicated Careers Coach, centred on career development, planning, and preparation for life beyond university.

• Alumni Mentoring聽鈥� Scholars are matched with UC alumni based on career interests for both formal and informal mentoring, delivered one-on-one or in small groups.

• PALS (Peer-Assisted Learning Sessions)聽鈥� Peer-led academic support through regular group study sessions aligned with key first- and second-year courses.

• UC Centre for Entrepreneurship (UCE)聽鈥� Scholars connect with UCE to access business mentoring, start-up challenges, networking opportunities, and skill-building workshops to enhance their entrepreneurial journey.
